think it's a deal with the devil when it comes to legislation. president obama gave him the opening. i think he made a huge mistake thursday by caving to the republicans, and giving junk insurance a new life in the affordable care act. it's going to be an extension. i think the president needs to stand firm on this. this is obama care, it's not clinton care. it's not reagan care. it's obama care. own it. he needs to remind everyone that this is the law of the land. we're not turning back. house and senate democrats need to stop worrying about the mid terms, and rally around this law, which is going to save american lives. well, president obama, i think, is giving the republicans an opportunity to get a bunch of bullet points and a narrative that will play all the way to the mid terms. for example, republican congressman fred upton, he's the new hero, proposing a bill on the house that takes the president's, quote, fix one step further. not only would junk insurance be extended, it's a trojan horse, but insurance companies would be allowed to sell new junk policies with things like life

around the country, and obama care is just not working. this guy is back. darrell issa. iffit not the irs, if it's not benghazi, well, it is obama care. chairman of the house oversite committee, and has done everything in his power to diminish the president, the health care law, everything. so now he's taking his obama care smear campaign on the road. and that is exactly what it is. basically, darrell issa, he doesn't have camouflage on. but believe me, he's on the hunt. the oversight committee is doing a series of field hearings, called obama care implementation. sticker shock of increased premiums for health care coverage. cute, isn't it? it's fair to call this a total traveling circus mess. the hearings, well, they're going to be held in north carolina, georgia, texas and arizona. exactly none of these states have set up a state exchange. and we all know the challenges of states that have not bought into obama care. kind of funny how that works, isn't it? make no mistake. these hearings will not be fair, and they won't be balanced. that's right. they're not going to be balanced. they a
about obama care. earlier today, the supreme court agreed to take up a challenge on the obama care contraceptive insurance mandate. they will decide if it violates a company's religious freedom. this case will be taken up a full two years after the supreme court upheld obama care as the law. remember, this court has a conservative bent to oh it. a conservative majority. it's the same court that ruled key provisions of the voting rights act unconstitutional. if the conservative justices determine a company or corporation has religious rights, it could be a major hit to obama care. no question about it. the white house released a statement today, saying that health decisions should be up to women. not their employers. this will just drive more women into the democratic camp. in the meantime, the technical issues are being addressed by the administration. the real story, the federal exchange is boosting its capacity day by day, and the states with exchanges have quite a report card to tell in a great number of enrollment taking place. earlier today, president obama said thousands of p

of important issues that have national implications. issues like obama care, med kaed expansion, immigration doesn't happen in america unless it happens in florida. and, of course, voting rights is on the tip of the tongue of every floridan. the 2014 gubernatorial election is here, it is hugely important. former florida governor, charlie crist, right now is the front runner for the democratic nomination. if he gets the go-ahead, he will be taking on republican governor, rick scott. scott, a self-made guy. he loves to tell people that. worth millions. could be the most radical of all republican governors in the bunch. and he's willing to spend up to $100 million to keep his job. scott kicked and screamed every step of the way on obama care. he refused to set up a state exchange. and so far, he has not expanded medicaid, which has hurt a lot of folks. if scott expanded medicaid, it would provide an estimated 1.2 million low-income floridans with life-saving health care. he's as ruthless as they come, folks. on sunday evening, i had an opportunity to sit down with charlie crist about this, and
